Genesis offers a variety of services and technologies that are focused on security at every level, from product-based
tools to network security as well as ongoing proactive compliance regulation.
Product security:
Keep your digital information safe and secure. Many of the features listed below come standard on our product lines
or are available as options.
+ Access controls and usage audits - Requires authorization for people to use the walk-up features of a multifunction
device or printer. Administrators can limit the number of pages available for each user, track usage at an account or
department level and download data to generate audit reports.
+ Access security software - Integrates your multifunction device or printer with your existing ID badge solution to
provide a flexible authentication system that can be tracked for accounting or regulatory requirements.
+ Encryption - All data moving in and out of your device, as well as the data stored within your device is secured with
state-of-the-art encryption.
+ Embedded fax - Common Criteria Certified (CCC) devices assure complete separation of the fax line and the network
connection.
+ Image overwrite - Electronically 'shred' data stored on MFP hard drives. Electronic erasure can be performed
automatically
at job completion or on-demand.
+ Network authentication and authorization - Access to scan, email and fax features is restricted by validating network
users and passwords prior to use of these functions. Activity can be monitored and recorded in a security audit log.
+ Removeable disk drive - Administrators can physically remove hard drives, virtually eliminating the risk of
unauthorized access to classified data.
+ Secure print - Document jobs are safely stored at the device until the owner enters a PIN to release the job held in queue.
This controls unauthorized viewing of documents sent to the multifunction device or printer.
Hard drive data removal:
Genesis offers two options for data removal on the hard drive before your multifunction device or printer is disposed of
or turned in after a lease.
+ On-demand electronic erasure - Permanently erases data so no data recovery program can piece it back together. The
process follows a standard set by the U.S. Department of Defense and is 5220.22-M compliant. Genesis will furnish a
data elimination confirmation document direct from the device.
+ Hard drive removal and return - A certified digital security technician will remove the hard drive and return it directly
to the customer for disposal. Removal service is performed at Genesis. You will also be educated about the
potential security risks and the options available to address them.
Please contact your Genesis sales representive for more information and pricing regarding hard drive data removal
and disposal.
